Harley Street BID launches new Security Forum to strengthen local safety
The Harley Street Business Improvement District (BID) has launched a new Security Forum, bringing together businesses, local authorities, and law enforcement to strengthen safety across the district
The first session focused on security issues along Marylebone High Street, with discussions highlighting how organisations are working side by side to create a safer environment for businesses, employees, and visitors.
Ashley Durling, Head of Operations and Security at the Harley Street Business Improvement District (BID) said: “The launch of our Security Forum marks an important step in bringing businesses and partners together to share expertise and strengthen resilience. By working collaboratively, we can ensure Harley Street remains a safe, welcoming, and thriving district for all.”
Participants heard from a strong line-up of speakers including:
- Met Police Safer Neighbourhood Team – outlining crime trends, responding to retailer concerns, and updating on local policing initiatives.
- Safer Business Network – showcasing the value of partnerships between businesses, law enforcement, and local authorities in building safer communities.
- West End Security – offering practical guidance on incident response, introducing resilience toolkits, and explaining their collaboration with BIDs and other organisations.
The session sparked valuable conversations and set out clear opportunities for collaboration, underlining the importance of shared knowledge and best practice.
While this first meeting focused on the retail sector, the Security Forum will meet quarterly, addressing a wider range of issues to support all businesses within the Harley Street BID area.
By working together, the forum aims to build resilience, strengthen relationships, and ensure Harley Street continues to be a safe and thriving district.
