Central District Alliance BID marks Mental Health Awareness Week
The BID delivered a week-long programme of wellbeing events designed to encourage connection, conversation and positive mental health across their footprint.
CDA curated a varied schedule of activities to give people different ways to take time out, recharge and engage with others in a supportive environment.
The week began with a painting session on Monday, offering attendees a creative outlet and an opportunity to slow down and switch off. On Tuesday, puppy therapy brought plenty of smiles, giving visitors the chance to de-stress and enjoy playing with a litter of Cockapoos.
Wednesday saw two wellbeing-focused events take place, including seated yoga sessions at The Orangery on Tottenham Court Road, designed to promote relaxation and movement in an accessible way, followed later in the day by a community 5K run club that encouraged people to get active, socialise and boost their mood through exercise.
The week concluded on Thursday with a “Cuppa and a Chat” session, creating a welcoming space for open conversations and connection over a hot drink.
The events received an overwhelmingly positive response, with strong attendance throughout the week and excellent feedback from participants. As part of its ongoing commitment to creating a vibrant and inclusive district, CDA aims to continue delivering a broad and varied programme of events throughout the year. By offering activities that cater to different interests, personalities and wellbeing needs.
Mental Health Awareness Week served as an important reminder that even small moments of connection, movement, creativity and conversation can have a lasting positive impact on wellbeing — and CDA is proud to play a role in creating those opportunities locally.
